The views from the top of Lone Cone Mountain are breathtaking! The entire trail is marked with flagging tape and requires at least a moderate level of physical fitness. The hike to the summit and back is approximately 4-6 hours. For the adventurous, the trail continues on in a large clockwise loop back to the beginning. Walking the boardwalk takes approximately 25 minutes one way. The first part of the trail, which has a boardwalk, features the biggest trees. The boat shuttle is 10 minutes to the head of the trail. Return boat shuttle to Meares Island for a stroll through an impressive old growth rainforest where you will see some of the world’s largest Western Red Cedar Trees.
